Essendon Danse Academy is a full time dance studio offering all styles to all ages. We are open 7 days a week teaching 3 -5  year old intro classes, School age kids, Bridal lessons and Competition Dancesport lessons.

E.D.A. 305 Buckley Street Essendon was opened in March 1963 by Frank South.  After winning the Victorian and Australian Championship in the same year he headed overseas for 5 years to improve his dancing.  Frank South and Muriel Watts returned home after winning a World Championship in the Exhibition Style and coming 3rd in the Ballroom  World Championships. 

 For over 40 years he trained thousands of dancers, teachers and adjudicators.  He also organised the Academy Ball annually as well as being a representative on the Australian Dancing Board.

In March 2001 his son Richard South took over the running of EDA.

Today we teach all styles from Street Latin to 4 year old dance right through adult social dance and Dancesport competition dancing. 

The Essendon Complex contains 4 studios mirrored and air conditioned. We have a smaller room available for private Bridal Lessons or Singing lessons.
